On the Pulse of the 21st Century

The WU Executive Academy is constantly developing new programs to prepare managers for the challenges of the future. Our current focus is mainly on innovation, leadership, and strategy, especially in the field of digitalization.

Data Science

The constantly increasing amount of data demands experts who know how to filter and interpret it and can advise companies on how to strategically use data to their best advantage. As a result, data science has become one of the most exciting professional fields for the future. The English-taught program in Data Science was launched in the fall of 2017.

“Data scientists are interdisciplinary generalists. They need to understand not only how data is generated, analyzed, and processed, but also how to find the business questions that can be answered with the help of big data.”
Axel Polleres, Academic Director of the Data Science program

Pioneers of the 21st Century

Today’s economy and the entire economic environment are changing faster and faster. Whoever isn’t affected by these changes already will be soon. Managers are expected to be flexible and adaptable – they have to be true leadership pioneers. That’s where this program comes in: In addition to teaching innovative skills and comprehensive expertise in strategy, innovation and leadership, we also focus on developing the personality characteristics needed to lead. Our graduates have the skills and knowledge they need to navigate their companies successfully through uncharted waters and new markets, together with their customers.

“In the 21st century we are faced with very rapid changes in business, economics, and society. What we need, then, are innovative solutions and fresh, new approaches to leadership, based on employees’ needs, because people are our most valuable resource in the new working world.”
Helga Pattart-Drexler, Head of Executive Education, WU Executive Academy

Career Accelerator Program

The reasons for getting an MBA are as varied and diverse as the career histories of our MBA students themselves. What they all have in common, however, is that by completing an MBA, they want to set themselves apart from others and take their careers to the next level. To meet these needs, the WU Executive Academy has now overhauled its previous career development services for MBA/LL.M. students and reorganized them into the new Career Accelerator Program. Based on state-of-the-art scientific findings, the new service portfolio focuses on the three key principles of success in career development: know-why, know-how, and know-who.

“It’s all about people’s lifelong career journeys, about seeing your career as a lifelong opportunity for personal development. About having a fulfilling job that’s fun and suits your personal strengths, that gives meaning to what you do and is just challenging enough to keep you on your toes without burning out or getting bored. Our Career Accelerator Program helps our students realize their individual career goals.”
Astrid Kleinhanns-Rollé, Managing Director, WU Executive Academy
