Launching a Career Right

The WU ZBP Career Center has been an important contact point on career issues for students and graduates since its establishment in 1983. Its main focus is on placing clients in internships and entry-level positions.

Finding Jobs

One of the WU ZBP Career Center’s core services is a job exchange for business and economics graduates. The center publishes entry-level positions with national and international companies both online on zbp.at and on paper in the JobNews newsletter. In 2016, a total of 2,475 jobs were posted – an increase of 10% for entry-level positions, 18% for part-time student jobs/internships, and 48% for positions for young professionals as compared to the year before. Over 600 employers are in active contact with the Career Center, aiming to hire promising WU students and graduates.

Meeting Employers

Numerous career events held throughout the year bring employers together with their potential future employees. For example, in 2016 the innovative ‘Long Night of Companies’ event was organized in cooperation with the University of Vienna’s career services office. During this night-long event, participants can visit different companies using a shuttle bus to get from one to the other. The WU ZBP Career Center also hosted and co-organized a number of other successful career planning events including an ‘Internship Day,’ ‘Meet your Job,’ ‘Career Insights,’ ‘CEMS Career Forum,’ and ‘Career Calling,’ Austria’s largest job fair.

The WU ZBP Career Center developed two new publications in 2016: a guide to professional fields and the brochure ‘Applying in Austria.’ The guide includes descriptions of some 80 different professional fields for graduates.
